Title VI of the Civil Rights Act
Hazleton Public Transit (HPT) gives public notice that it complies with the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes. Title VI provides that "no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." HPT operates its programs and services without regard to race, color and national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.

Hazleton Public Transit (HPT)
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Fiscal Years 2024 through 2026Hazleton Public Transit (HPT) receives United States Department of Transportation funds. As a recipient of these funds, HPT is required to establish a DBE participation goal. HPT calculated the goal based on the applicable regulations (49 Code of federal Regulations Part 26). HPT is recommending a 3.3% DBE goal for federally assisted contracts beginning October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2026. Information pertaining to this goal including a description of how it was calculated is available for inspection from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) at the administrative offices of Hazleton Public Transit located at 126 West Mine Street, Hazleton, PA 18201 for 30 days following this notice. Written comments on this goal will be accepted for 45 days from the date of this notice. The comments may be sent to Ralph Sharp, DBE Liaison, 126 West Mine Street, Hazleton, PA 18201.
